Here is the new font for the “Exposition Time!” Comic. It is called “Cinema Gothic NBP” and you can download it on fontspace.com. This will be in the next comic book Space Grind: Robot Takeover!
It’s been awhile since I’ve wrote a blog post for the website, but I still have been working on the next comic book. In fact, I had a hard time deciding what to write about, and wrote three unfinished scripts. The script that will be officially in the next comic book is going to be 30 pages long, and right now has 18 pages written (with a lot of time spent editing out unnecessary dialogue, as well).
I have also changed the robot dialogue font from “Bicubik” to “Cinema Gothic NBP.” In fact, the “Exposition Time!” comic will have a different font than it did in the first published comic book.
Comparison of the new font vs. the old font.
I have outlined how many pages are planned to be in this next comic book, and it will have 55 pages (a little less than last time). There will also be an “art gallery” section of the comic book, where you’ll see various artwork of planned Space Grind robot characters.
The title of the next comic book is Space Grind: Robot Takeover! I hope you enjoy reading it when it is ready 🙂
As a bonus, here is the front cover for the next comic book. As well as a screenshot of a snippet of the script that is being worked on 😀
While trying to organize my story called ‘Space Grind,’ I decided it may be helpful to make a list of all the characters for the series idea, both big and small. Not just their names, but also their plot relevancy. I don’t even think I’m done yet, and I already listed 69 characters!! I know… nice
Granted, some of the characters are only for single episode ideas, but it’s still crazy to me how many I managed to come up with since Summer 2017 (which is when I first came up with Space Grind).
Also, so far I listed 16 characters that kick the bucket
The next comic book will be about when Radmu being discovered for the first time by the Space Grind gang. For the script, I got 15 pages of the first draft written. As I was doing research for how to write the script (written in an animated TV script format), I got confused on how to structure the next comic book. I was seeing contradicting answers, and I got confused on how to write a script and translate it into a comic book format. So I have decided to write two versions of the script: the TV version and the comic book version. The TV version will have 40-50 pages, while the comic book version will have 25 pages (so it’s the length of a traditional comic book issue). Plans may change depending on how I see fit.

I hope this works out. I’ve been somewhat on a little hiatus since the release of Space Grind: House Havoc. I’m hoping that I can release the next comic relatively soon.
It’s been 5 months since the release of Space Grind: House Havoc. So far, it’s gotten a good reception. I got three 5-star reviews on Amazon, too 😀 I am very happy that I got the comic book done. Lots of things have been going on since then. The excitement I felt after publishing died down at this point, but the sense of achievement is still there ❤
Lots of things have been happening. I’ve been having trouble planning the next comic. I may be less ambitious and just do a classic, 25-page issue. I’m still trying to figure out how to structure my writing process.
I got Procreate on my new iPad Air. I may use that for comics. The old Cintiq 21 I’ve used for three years is having technical issues. It’s what I used for the majority of the making for the Space Grind comic book. The screen flickers badly.
I am grateful to all the readers who purchased and read Space Grind: House Havoc! 😀 Thank you for your support! ❤
Now that Space Grind: House Havoc has been released, what’s the next comic book gonna be about? Even though I’m AlexZenDraw, I’m still figuring that out myself XD Even though not all the details have been set in stone, I have a few things figured out so far that I know I wanna do. First, let’s get these two questions out of the way —
Is the next book going to be about Space Grind again?
What are the stories that will be in the book?
For the next comic book, I thought it’d be good to showcase a different story that I created. After all, Alex Zen Draw Comics is supposed to encompass all my ideas. Even though I think it’d be really fun to show you guys more of Space Grind, I think it’d be good to make a comic book about a different story, too.
‘So what is the next comic book gonna be about,’ you say? It will be about a teenage vampire gal. I created this character back when I was 14 years old, which is also the age of the vampire girl. The story is called Rachel the Vampire. I can see teenagers really enjoying the story, as well as young adults 20-35 (like with Space Grind‘s audience). The genre this time would be a supernatural, dark comedy-drama story. Below is a description of what Rachel the Vampire is about.
A page from the Space Grind comic book.
As for what stories will be in the comic book, I have four out of five ideas relatively figured out. Of course, one of the comic books will be an “Exposition Comic” like in the first Space Grind book (you can read the free excerpt here: https://alexzendraw.wordpress.com/2021/10/22/space-grind-exposition-comic/). There will also be a full-length, 25-page story just like “Corona is a Cabrona” 🙂 Then a few short stories. I want you to be surprised by what stories will be in the comic, so I’ll keep those ideas a secret for now.
The reason why this art is in the Gate City category is because Rachel the Vampire is technically a planned spin-off prequel to Gate City. I’ll explain how in a future blog post.
Have an AWESOME day! 😀
Sorry, A, Space Grind will have to wait after Rachel the Vampire is done. I’ll try to get it done ASAP! ❤ I’m expecting the process to be faster now that I offically know how to publish a comic book thru Amazon.
Today I was curious to learn how to sell merchandise for my comic books, now that my very first comic is finally published. I’m hoping this will help make more people interested in checking out the stories.
I now have a shop on Etsy.com. I currently use a website called printful.com that is able to turn designs into products on demand. So far, I only have two things up for sale, but there will surely be more to come!! ❤
I am so lucky and blessed to have people online make actual FAN ART of my stuff!! ❤ What an honor!! 😀
To celebrate the release of Space Grind: House Havoc, I would like to share some fan art that people have made of Space Grind so far ❤ I will credit the artists and share where you can see their other art!
Fan Art #1
Made by Catherine Farrar on Instagram: @drawgon_art_studio
This LOVELY drawing of RPL was a little surprise made by the talented artist Catherine. She is my online artist friend 🙂 She surprised me one day with this AWESOME DRAWING of my character! This character even has a cameo appearance in the recently released SG comic book! ❤ We discussed having her contribute artwork of my characters in our Instagram DMs, but I discarded the idea. I offered to pay her for any artwork she would contribute before I changed my mind. I honestly did not expect her to make this fantastic drawing on the house! WOW!! ❤ Thank you, Catherine 🙂

You can find this artist’s work on Instagram: @dynocation
It delightfully shocked me when a stranger on Instagram sent me this fan art in my Instagram DMs. Not only is cool to just receive any drawing of my characters — this is drawn in such a unique art style! How stylish!! The artist and I quickly became artist friends 😀 Thank you, Dynocation 🙂
This is the drawing that Dynocation is referring to. Under the original Instagram post is a caption that talks about the origins of litle Radmu.
Fan Art #3
This drawing was actually made years ago, back in the early days of working on Space Grind. It was a relatively new idea of mine at the time. Back when I was an active user on the DeviantArt website, a user that I didn’t know yet contacted me and asked to do an art trade. I accepted the invitation and requested that she drew the character Neuro. I am in love with the result! ❤ Thank you, Mewogal 🙂
This fan art was made by my old friend Kaeli. We met on DeviantArt 🙂 One day, we were chatting through Discord and were drawing together. She made this cool drawing of Neuro 😀 She is such a talented gal! Thank you, Kaeli 🙂
Although no longer active on DeviantArt, you can still see some of her creations here: https://www.deviantart.com/rrproaniA drawing of Neuro holding a mop in the newly released Space Grind comic 🙂
Fan Art #5
There is nowhere online where you can see her art. Maybe she’ll make an art account somewhere in the future, but I’m not sure lol
And last (but certainly not least) is art made by my little sister ❤ She made this in 2020 I believe. It’s so flattering to have your sibling make their own drawing of YOUR characters! How wonderful ❤ ❤ ❤ Thank you, Sarah 🙂
And That’s It!
Thanks again to all that made these drawings! 😀 Be sure to show them some love and check out their content. Peace out, y’all!
