Age Ratings

Rating System

My comics have different audiences. For example, Celestial Circle is aimed at all ages, while Space Grind is meant for an older audience. To give you a good idea of what each comic series’ demographic is, I will be borrowing the Rating System that is used by DC Comics.

The DC Comics Rating System

E – EVERYONE – Appropriate for readers of all ages. May contain cartoon violence and/or some comic mischief.

Alexzendraw, I Do Not Like Swearing In My Books. Is There Any Way I Can Read Your Comics Without All The Language?

YES! As of August 13th, 2021, I officially decided to make an alternate version of my original comics that contain swearing. Before publication, one of my lovely readers read 5 pages of “Corona is a Cabrona,” and liked everything about it EXCEPT the swearing. She was very sensitive to it, and I wanted a version where she can FULLY enjoy the content without being uncomfortable.

As a writer, I decided to have some of my characters swear mostly because it feels more “authentic” on how most young adults talk. Since that is the age group most of my stories market to, I don’t think keeping the language is a crazy choice. It’s not like they’re made for kids, after all (except Celestial Circle). However, I’ve grown up with a mix of friends who don’t mind cussing, and ones that are very sensitive to it. I have chosen to make a censored alternative for my sensitive friends. I respect their stance, especially it comes from their conscience. Not only do I not want the language to ruin their reading experience — I don’t want to make them feel like they have to compromise what their conscience feels, just because they want to support my work.

If you’re wondering ‘Why make two versions of the same story if you can just publish the clean version,’ it’s because I’m too hesitant to compromise my original vision completely. I hope you understand ❤
